In this design called Bane Will Break You, shows Bane, muscles bulging, raising Batman over his head just before he defeats the masked crusader by breaking his back.
Bane was created in the early 90s to fulfill a specific story function: he was to be the villain who would Break Batman in the Knightfall story arc that ran from 1993–1994 - published by DC Comics. The series consists of a trilogy of storylines that ran from 1993 to 1994, consisting of Knightfall , Knightquest, and KnightsEnd. This design, Bane Will Break You, was inspired by the cover to the Batman comic #497: The breaking of the Bat. Art by Kelley Jones.
